Fuel Savings

Maximize Your Fuel Usage ➤

Check Your Gas Cap
Many vehicles on the road today have damaged, loose, or missing gas caps. This can lead to your gas vaporizing, which is not only a waste of this resource, but also a waste of your hard-earned money.

Keep Tires Properly Inflated
Under or overinflated tires can negatively impact your fuel economy. It’s essentially like wasting an extra gallon of gas per gallon you use on your trip.

Change Spark Plugs
Worn spark plugs can make it difficult to start your car and can lead to electrical or chemical erosion.
Change Your Air Filters
Believe it or not, your air filter also plays a role in your fuel usage. Clogs in the filter cause poor gas-to-air proportion, which taints the fuel and leaves it less powerful.

Curb Aggressive Driving
Aggressive driving leads to direct fuel waste. Your gas mileage can be lower by 33% on highways or 5% on residential streets.

Avoid Idling When Possible
Idling in traffic or warming up your vehicle are unavoidable. However, if you have the option to shut off your car or limit how long you are idling, you’ll improve your fuel economy.

Stay Within the Speed Limit
Did you know that once you reach 60 mph and over, each subsequent mile adds an additional 10 cents per gallon? If you do happen to be driving long distances at a high speed, remember to place your vehicle on cruise control to help limit waste.
